We recently partnered with the Township of Randolph to launch a website for their Economic Development Commission to market the community for business development. As we conducted market research of other economic development websites one feature jumped out to us: the importance of data. Economic Development and Business Improvement District websites rely on a mixture of captivating media (photos and videos) and statistics to entice prospective developers to make the initial contact with the organization.
While data, such as census statistics, is an important consideration for realtors and develops, presenting this information in an appealing and concise manner can be a challenge. To make our client’s website standout, we decided to construct the data section with an interactive and dynamic flair. After trial and error with several Wordpress plugins, we discovered Infogram. Infogram makes it easy to design interactive charts and graphs which can be embedded into websites or added to documents. The free version comes with dozens of templates and data can be easily imported via excel spreadsheets. The next time you have to incorporate statistics into a design, consider jazzing it up with Infogram!
